About the Job
The Area Manager is an energetic, outgoing self-starter who motivates and mentors, someone who can guide the facility managers in their area and develop their talent. He/she aggressively contributes to profitability by developing and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships and possessing basic computer skills. The Area Manager should have experience leading multiple facilities, because they will also be responsible for ensuring area-wide customer satisfaction and measuring the financial performance of all the locations in their area. They will be inspiring a team of great people committed to creating a welcoming environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible and accountable for all area facilities and operations impacting customers, employees, and the achievement of Company goals
- Must be able to do daily site visits, responsible for 4-7 properties as well as manage a team of 11-12 people. This positions oversees properties in Arizona and Southern California.
- Support site staff: Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Customer Service Representative and cover when needed
- Directly responsible for in depth knowledge of state specific lien process and requirements
- Conducts quarterly facility audits to ensure physical and operational standards are being met
- Follow up training and evaluating the retention of training
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring
- Responsible for analyzing financial reports
- Management of rental rates and discounts for each facility
- Ensure area is operating within approved budgets
- Has project approval authority of up to $2,500
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent of 3-5 years of work related experience
- Two years management experience
- Demonstrated leadership competency in building, developing and retaining high performing teams
- Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and dependable personal transportation
- Exceptional communication, organization and time management skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods and be able to move about freely, stoop/bend, and walk; frequent reaching/pulling/pushing and repetitive motions.
- Work in all outdoor conditions
- Travel up to 50 to 60% of the time
