Art Director - Swiftwick

Swiftwick designs, engineers, and builds performance socks for endurance sports. We are proudly based in Tennessee, manufactured in the USA, and worn the world over. We are seeking a highly skilled Art Director to join our growing team, where you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling visual experiences across apparel, print, and digital for Swiftwick.
The role will report directly to our CEO, who previously led marketing, e-commerce, and international at Away for four years. The role will also work in close partnership with our marketing, product development, e-commerce, and wholesale teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the brand’s visual identity and provide art direction across all consumer-facing and internal touchpoints, maintaining brand guidelines and evolving them as needed.
- Partner with our head of integrated marketing to develop compelling seasonal campaign concepts that resonate culturally with our target consumers
- Lead the design of multiple seasonal product collections each year (socks and select merch / accessories) that seamlessly tie into and reflect our seasonal campaign concepts, in close partnership with our product development and supply chain teams
- Provide art direction for photo and video shoots that introduces a fresh creative POV to a legacy category
- Conceptualize and execute visually impactful designs for our e-commerce website, email campaigns and flows, organic social media, digital advertising, and other digital platforms.
- Design marketing collateral to support the wholesale team’s efforts, ensuring that key product features and benefits and the Swiftwick brand world are effectively communicated to retailers and distributors.
- Manage freelance creatives (photographers, designers, videographers) on an as-needed basis
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience, with increasing scope and responsibilities.
- Prior knowledge and experience in apparel, print, and digital design with a consumer brand. You are comfortable discussing textile selection, color process, and print specs, but can also hold your own when it comes to the digital world.
- Readiness to roll up your sleeves and be scrappy – we are a small team, and the ideal candidate is able to wear many hats.
- Familiarity with and understanding of brand marketing-adjacent functions, from creative production and paid social to automated email flows to retail and digital sales and merchandising.
- You have a finger on the pulse of culture, whether that be sports, fashion, or design
- Prior startup experience (or other fast-paced experience where you wear a lot of hats) is ideal.
- High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with tools such as Figma and Asana.
- Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required with the relevant professional experience.
