Job Overview:
Seeking a skilled and reliable Asphalt Plant Operator to manage the operations of the asphalt plant. The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt production and a strong understanding of plant operations, maintenance, and safety procedures. As an Asphalt Plant Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality asphalt while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
This position is located in Mississippi and relocation is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operation: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the asphalt plant, including the production of asphalt and the loading of trucks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Inventory Management: Track material inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols and ensure that OSHA and company safety standards are met at all times.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve any issues that arise during the production process to prevent delays.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Asphalt Plant Operator or in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and maintaining asphalt plant equipment, including computerized control systems.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of asphalt production processes, plant operations, and safety regulations.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications are a plus (e.g., HMA Plant Operations certification).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues to ensure continuous production.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift/move heavy objects as required.
