Responsibilities:- Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
- Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
- Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
- Conducts quality control checks.
- Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Assembler Skills / Qualifications:
- Mechanical and technical skills
- Safety management mindset
- Focus on quality control
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous manufacturing experience is a plus
Electrotech is the largest independent manufacturer of electrical service equipment for residential and commercial buildings in the New York metropolitan area. The Company primarily manufactures switchboards and panel boards, which are UL listed and produced to meet specific project requirements, in accordance with applicable national and local standards. Additionally, Electrotech supplies customers with complimentary products such as transformers, busway, and other products that are sourced from third parties. These products are produced for a diverse set of end users such as residential and commercial real estate, federal government institutions, hospitals and municipal transportation.
The Company has long-standing relationships with the largest electrical contracting, architectural, and engineering firms in New York and has supplied equipment to numerous large “blue chip” projects such as JP Morgan Chase, World Trade Center – Tower One, Columbia University, Hudson Yards, New York Mets – Citi Field, New York University and Plaza Hotel.
