Position Summary
Reporting to the Line Lead and/or Production Supervisor, the Assembly position will work with production team on both the packaging line and raw material processing to achieve plant safety, quality, and production goals. This position is required to work safely, efficiently and with great attention to detail.
Position Responsibilities
- Model and support a safety and food safety culture for the facility
- Ensure tasks are completed safely, timely, following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and to quality specifications
- Participate in master sanitation scheduling
- Regularly and timely attend daily meetings and provide status updates in shift handoff as needed
- Regularly and timely complete all required training including, but not limited to safety, compliance, food safety, and quality
- Support a culture of inclusion and employee engagement
- Perform adjustments to processing equipment where appropriate
- Provides support to all plant functions including quality and warehouse daily as needed
- Assist and rotate to other lines as scheduled or needed
- Perform Critical Control Points (CCP) and Redzone checks throughout production facility
- Monitor packaging lines to temporarily backfill for other assembly employees
- Stage and prepare raw materials for production use
- Timely report any hazardous conditions and/or acts to plant leadership
- Attend and participate in company committees such as safety committee
- Maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness
- Maintain the company's commitment to providing quality products and services with an emphasis on Food Safety, legality, and integrity
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable safety, quality and environmental regulations
- Demonstrate teamwork
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
- Ability to work any flexible schedules, overtime and weekends is required
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge and/or understanding of the following programs and regulations pertaining to a food processing plant:
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Food Safety
- HACCP
- Must possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
- Required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Required to comply with Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with others
- Required to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the workday
- Ability to climb stairs and work on elevated areas to perform clean-up duties
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movement and work under industrial conditions
- Ability to properly lift and carry up to thirty (30) lbs. in a repetitive motion
- Ability to work well under pressure with competing demands in a team environment is required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
