About the Job
Job Objective: The objective for the Assembly Technician is to accurately and efficiently construct assemblies that are compliant to CMC customers’ specifications and requirements.
CMC Expectations of a Successful Assembly Technician:
· Construct/put together assemblies in accordance with blueprint/drawing specifications.
· Collaborate with laborers and other employees needed to complete assemblies on schedule.
· Identify any fault in relation to any material or equipment, and then notify Production Supervisor and/or Project Management.
· Consistently and accurately clock in and out, record total quantity, and scrap of production work orders using the MieTrak kiosk.
· Touch up painting, Use of power and pneumatic tools.
· Other duties that may arise, as assigned.
· Follow and support CMC safety requirements, such as wearing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Ready to work from the start of the shift until the end.
· Follow all company policies, for example, Quality, Safety, Employee Manual.
Skills of an Assembly Technician:
· Math Skills: Good math skills will help an Assembly Technician understand complex instructions, how plans work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
· Problem Solving Skills: An Assembly Technician will need to understand CMC capabilities and look for solutions and alternatives that meet the customers’ needs.
· Attention to Detail: Producing quality parts is up to each employee, but ultimately falls on managers. It is essential that an Assembly Technician verifies each assembly to the customers’ specifications and requirements.
· Mechanical and Technical Skills: For complicated assemblies, it takes mechanical and technical knowledge to accurately and efficiently put out an end product that will pass quality inspections.
· Analytical Skills: Assembly Technicians need to read and understand blueprints, drawings, models and other specifications.
Preferred:
- 2-3 years’ work experience in an assembly or maintenance-type position.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and stand for long periods of time.
- Warehouse is not climate controlled.
