JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the detection, apprehension, or deterrence of customer and employee activity that could result in a loss to the company. In addition, this position is responsible for responding to asset protection and operational concerns of all employees and remaining focused on store specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
- Detect, deter, apprehend, and process shoplifting subjects within legal parameters and according to guidelines outlined in the Asset Protection (AP) Manual
- Maintain a working knowledge of the AP Manual, company policies and procedures
- Utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the stores physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store
- Ensure safety of all employees and customers by promoting and ensuring operational compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Assist in the investigation of internal and external incidents and accidents, as directed by the Lead Asset Protection Investigator
- Develop partnerships with store management and employees, heightening awareness of shrink causing issues, safety, and other asset protection programs and initiatives
- Respond to critical incidents, such as catastrophic events, medical emergencies, threats, or civil disorder
- Serve as a business partner to the assigned stores and support all leadership teams when handling Loss Prevention issues
- Maintain a safe business environment and report all incidents of unsafe employee conduct and hazards to store management and take immediate remedial action whenever an imminent safety hazard is present.
- Verify, inspect, and complete checklists of access points, physical security systems and equipment to ensure everything is functioning and in line with regulations to ensure compliance with safety and asset protection policies
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
- Assist in promoting, monitoring, and implementing compliance policies and procedures related to theft prevention, safety, and inventory control
- Complete all incident and investigation reports and any required paperwork related to theft
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience
- One or more years' experience in asset protection desired, preferably in a retail environment.
