This position pays $20.00 per hour.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Do you have strong caregiving skills? The Assistant Administrator reports directly to an Administrator that oversees one (1) community. Through assisting the Administrator, this position is responsible for quality control in the profitable delivery of products and services, leading employees in a manner that maintains the integrity of the company and a healthy, safe, friendly, and home-like environment for residents, families, staff, and external agencies. Normally acts as the Safety Officer. The Assistant Administrator sets the example of exemplary caregiving. Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL's) including grooming, hygiene, dressing, clothing cleanliness, perineal care, showering or baths, nail care, shaving, eating, ambulating, medications, toileting including incontinence care, daily activities, turning and positioning residents, etc., which requires lifting up to 35 pounds;
- Cooking meals and following a menu to meet specific diet requirements for individual residents. Providing water and snacks between meals. Doing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, and dining room area after meals;
- Assist with the operation of the facility as outlined by the Administrator;
- Under Administrator direction, provide leadership, training, direction, and development opportunities to staff by participating in hiring, promoting company loyalty and success, setting clear expectations and goals, and following the disciplinary process if necessary;
- While acting as the facility Safety Officer, maintain facility, resident and staff safety through the delivery of regular safety education, building inspections, and coordinating facility maintenance and safety needs with maintenance team;
- Ensure customer satisfaction and effectively handle complaints and concerns from residents, families, staff, and external agencies;
- Maintain the marketability of the facility and ensure tour-readiness;
- Using therapies and techniques to prevent and improve resident behaviors;
- Housekeeping activities such as making and changing beds, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms and bedrooms, windows, etc;
- Keeping records, charting, medications, and recording resident activities; and accurately completing of reports (census, financial, employee paperwork, etc.) on time;
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
· Act as facility authority in the absence of the Administrator. For extended Administrator absences this position may assigned as an official designee under that license;
- Develop and maintain relationships with State Surveyors and resident health care providers;
- Partner with the Senior Care Advisor to promote facility products, determine appropriate candidates for admission, generate referrals and follow referral process;
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans to increase efficiency, growth, profitability, compliance, and staff development;
- Considering resident diets, cost-effectively plan and shop for groceries and other supplies;
- As necessary, perform the work required in any of the positions supervised;
- Perform related duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
· A minimum of one (1) year of experience in health care field or a related field preferred;
· Administrator License or Certificate for applicable state is preferred;
· Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred;
· Certifications in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and medications required;
· Previous supervisory experience preferred;
· Knowledge of state rules, regulations, fire codes and other safety practices;
· Knowledge of all residents rights, including the right to be free of restraints and abuse;
· Knowledge of purchasing and budgeting procedures, and financial statements;
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
· Ability to supervise and motivate staff;
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
· Ability to use office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, email;
· Ability to use computer programs such as email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel;
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and facility issues and records.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Must pass a criminal background check;
· Must possess valid driver's license, reliable transportation; and personal automobile insurance;
- This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Work is performed both in an office and a health services environment and requires sufficient mobility and physical reflexes to perform in both environments;
· Must be able to lift up to thirty five (35) pounds unassisted;
· May be required to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and on-call availability;
· May be required to travel for meetings, trainings, or to support other facilities.
