The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas is currently seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor for the department of Clinical Specialties.
As Clinical Faculty with greater than half-time appointment, the Assistant/Associate Professor duties include clinical time and requires a signed Clinical Faculty Agreement that governs any generated clinical (supplemental) compensation. The clinical time assigned may be to the NYITCOM-AR Medical Clinic or contracted by the college to an outside clinical entity.
Responsibilities:Summary:
Primary duty of the Assistant/Associate Professor is to participate in teaching student in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program on the NYITCOM at Arkansas State campus and support the department of Clinical Specialties and its activities to include pre-clinical and clinical teaching.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serving as an instructor in the Doctor-Patient Relationship Lab
- Serving as an instructor in the Simulation Lab
- Serving as an instructor in population health related courses
- Serving as an instructor in the case base learning course
- Serving as a mentor and/or applicant interviewer
- Participation in pre-clinical lectures and group based discussions.
- Participation in other college labs (i.e. Anatomy, OMM) based on individual skill level
- Other duties assigned for the department and/or college as the need arises.
- D.O. or M.D. degree from a COCA or LCME approved school of osteopathic medicine or medicine.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Current, unrestricted Arkansas State Medical License
- Preferred teaching experience in an academic setting / medical school setting with successful demonstration of educating medical students and other health/science related students

Preferences may be given to applicants who possess any or all of the following skills or attributes:
- General knowledge in primary care and rural medicine.
- Current proficiency (or ability to develop proficiency) in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine theory and techniques.
- Prior teaching experience (whether in classroom setting, in clinical setting, in CME, or in residency setting).
- Demonstrated ability in leadership needed to achieve proficiency in academics and research.
