Position Overview
The Department of Health Administration & Health Policy is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for a non-tenured 12-month practice-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position will be focused on graduate education primarily in the CAHME accredited Master of Health Administration (MHA) program with the possibility for consultation on grants and contracts. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in health care data management, population health analytics, and operations management. The successful candidate will possess experience in health administration, public health, or related field specifically using basic statistical knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A terminal degree (PhD EdD, DHA), or equivalent in health administration, public health, health informatics, data science, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching:
•Develop and deliver graduate-level courses in healthcare data management, data analytics, and operations management with a focus on healthcare applications.
•Incorporate data analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI into coursework to provide practical hands-on learning experiences.
•Mentor and advise students on academic and professional development
•Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation related activities.
2. Scholarship/Research, Service and Engagement:
•Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
•Engage in professional organizations and community outreach related to healthcare administration and data analytics
•Develop new collaborative relationships with academic, community, and industry partners to provide opportunities for students and faculty
•Collaborate with SPH colleagues and external academic, industry, and community partners in teams to nurture an inclusive, interdisciplinary, collaborative environment
•Research experience a plus
3. Professional Development:
•Stay current with emerging trends and challenges in public health and health administration
•Participate in relevant professional organizations and networks to maintain a strong presence in the field
•Pursue opportunities for professional growth
