About This Role: | The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in tick/vector-borne disease, parasitology, and host-pathogen interactions. The ideal candidate should have evidence of research productivity and a strong potential to obtain or have already obtained extramural funding in any area of bacterial tick-borne diseases. This position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment with an approximately 80% research, 15% teaching, and 5% non-directed service distribution of effort. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in working across disciplines and collaborating broadly in areas that are potentially synergistic with current departmental and college faculty interests in infectious diseases, vaccinology, and cellular and molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions. Applicants must (a) possess a PhD in an infectious disease-related area; (b) demonstrate potential for teaching at the professional and graduate levels; (c) demonstrate the ability to acquire extramural funding to build or maintain an active research program. Preference will be given to individuals who possess a DVM (or equivalent), and have engaged in post-doctoral training.
