Job Summary:
The Assistant Banquet Manager provides support to the Banquet Manager and Sales Manager with planning event details by coordinating with group sales clients, posting event charges on the day of event, supervising the banquet staff, and coordinating all food and beverage services within the banquet department. This team player assists with training the banquet team to ensure excellent guest service, ensuring that hotel standards are met for banquet facilities set-up and banquet staff appearance, cleaning and resetting banquet spaces, and maintaining inventory.
The Assistant Banquet Manager role requires an individual who will maintain and develop the highest level of guest satisfaction for all banquets and meetings with an attention to service. The individual will assist in the management of all meeting and event related guest requests, complaints and queries and ensure that all aspects are communicated to the respective departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination of all aspects of banquet functions with the Banquet Manager, event host and Sales Manager.
Assist in the planning of functions for the banquet department such as, but not limited to, determining schedule, set up, and menus.
Assist with creating and distributing BEOs at least two weeks prior to the start of the event.
Inspect all banquet rooms, service, and FOH kitchen areas for cleanliness and make sure sufficient supplies and equipment are available for the function.
Oversee and actively assist in all aspects of banquet function activities from start to finish.
Ensure events are properly set and ready for execution at the appointed time.
Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
Adhere to all banquet standard processes and also hotel standard policies and procedures.
Assist with interviewing, hiring, supervising, training and scheduling banquet and event staff members.
Coordinate function details with banquet and kitchen staff.
Conduct pre-shift and pre-function meetings.
Actively participate in the set up of banquet rooms and service of food and beverage to guests.
Communicate frequently with the group leader in order to ensure that their needs are being met.
Display awareness and compliance with hotels security, safety, emergency and energy procedures.
Post all banquet billing charges on the day of the event.
Maintain and reconcile an inventory of all alcoholic beverages.
Maintain and keep an inventory of all banquet equipment including AV, linens, tables, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Degree in hospitality or similar preferred.
A minimum of two years experience as an assistant banquet manager or similar preferred.
Physical Requirements:
