Overview:
Summary Statement:
The Apprentice Bartender is responsible for servicing the guests in a courteous and professional manner, while assisting bartenders throughout the course of business. This role ensures bar areas are always cleaned, organized and properly stocked with prepped ingredients.
Job Duties:Primary Job Duties: – Includes but is not limited to:
- Greet and welcome all guests in a professional manner.
- Ensure the bar is properly stocked with supplies necessary for service.
- Replenish ice coolers, garnish trays, straws, and napkins holders.
- Ensure bar equipment and supplies are clean and in working order.
- Assist with inventories and requisitions to restock bar items.
- Maintaining a clean and organized bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
- Anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
- Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and personal hygiene.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
- Participate in in-house modeling programs, special casino events, banquet service functions, marketing campaigns and advertising and perform model/presenter tasks.
- Pose for pictures as requested by management, appear in uniform or designated (logo) apparel for promotional activities at or away from venue.
- Use personal device/ cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review company documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Includes but is not limited to:
- Basic understanding of bartender work and/or drink preparation.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Polished appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean.
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Preferred:
- At least 6 months of previous experience working in a similar bar or restaurant setting.
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- At least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to obtain the following:
- Alcohol Awareness Card
- Food Handling Card
- Non-Gaming Card
