Position: Assistant Bookkeeper/Insurance Coordinator

Position: Assistant Bookkeeper/Insurance Coordinator
NHC HealthCare Anderson, a 280 bed post acute center in Anderson, SC is in need of an Assistant Bookkeeper. The qualified applicant for this position will be an organized self-starter with excellent time management skills and a positive attitude.
Position Highlights:
- Develop and maintain the bookkeeping records necessary to properly account for the transactions in the operation of the business.
- Assure private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid claims have been filed accurately and timely to all parties.
- Collect accounts receivable with the assistance of the Business Office Manager and the Administrator.
- Complete monthly revenue process.
- Maintain accurate daily census records.
- Assist families and/or patients with insurance, Medicare and Medicaid claims and statement questions.
- Assist patients and/or families with the Medicaid application process.
- Assist with partner benefit enrollment.
- Prepare accurate and timely accounting transactions and reports.
- Safeguard and record cash receipts and disbursements.
- Classify and record expenses of operations.
- Maintain, record and document transactions for personnel and payroll systems.
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings as required.
- Other duties as required by the Business Office Manager and the Administrator.
Qualifications:
- Experience in insurance verification, Medicare claims, Medicaid application process, Medicaid claims, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
- Possess good communication skills with attention to detail.
- Be able to work effectively and thoroughly with patients and families.
- Be well-organized, persistent and work as a team player with other departments.
