Edgewood Manor of Lucasville is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Business Office Manager to support the Business Office Manager in the efficient daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. The Assistant Business Office Manager will play a crucial role in managing financial and administrative tasks, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, resident fund management, personnel matters, and census management. This position requires knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care processes and includes interacting with residents and their families to assist with Medicaid applications and Social Security benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Business Office Manager with accounts payable tasks, including reviewing and processing vendor invoices and maintaining accurate records.
- Manage resident funds, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist residents and families with any fund-related inquiries.
- Support accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, and reconciling accounts, with a focus on Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care.
- Assist in census management by maintaining accurate resident census data and ensuring timely reporting.
- Aid in Medicaid applications and assist families with Social Security and Medicare benefit applications.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and families, serving as a resource for financial and administrative questions.
- Assist with staffing and human resource duties, including maintaining personnel records, scheduling, and other HR tasks as needed.
- Provide backup support in the absence of the Business Office Manager and handle other office duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all business office activities align with the facility’s operational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a business office or administrative role, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing and application processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and facility-specific software.
- Familiarity with basic HR functions, including scheduling and personnel management, is a plus.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to delivering excellent service in a healthcare setting.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Some flexibility may be required depending on operational needs.
