SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the CAD Manager, we are seeking a creative, energetic person to provide CAD and color support to the various design and product development teams as needed. The responsibilities include using design software to create design related CADs and Color Palettes, assisting with exporting files for use with various softwares (Photoshop, Illustrator, NedGraphics, PLM, etc), maintenance and cataloging of digital artwork. Evaluating palettes, lab dips, and bulk submittals to ensure consistency in color. Assist with all color office activities and ensure the consistency of color across all classifications and collections.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical knowledge of textiles, color technology, dyeing and printing techniques and willingness to learn.
- Development of fabric CADs for woven, knit, and sweaters at the beginning of each new season for all brands.
- Creation of flat body CADs for design teams as needed
- Recolor CADs for design team as needed
- Strong ability to differentiate color accurately.
- Assist with exporting files for use within PLM and/or Concept boards as needed
- Thorough understanding of visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accurate and consistent technique: ability to use spectrophotometer, light boxes and other color tools
- Create and distribute QTX files of development and production submittals.
- Maintain a 24 to 48 hour turnaround time with comments.
- Maintain color standards, guides, and other related records both digital and physical.
- Maintain CAD reference libraries and archives
- Ensure all design teams are following color room procedures.
- Calibrate spectrophotometer and maintain the calibration log.
- Print presentation materials for team members
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing the entire color process, including but not limited to NRF codes and color palette creation.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator with a willingness to learn Nedgraphics
- Detail oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills for working with designers and interpreting directives.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to interact and resolve design & color issues with vendors and internal departments.
- Multi tasker with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Personable, team and service oriented – ability to build relationships with other designers.
- Proficiency in spectrophotometers, color management software and best operational practices is a plus.
- Fast learner
REQUIREMENTS
- AA degree in Arts
- Superior discrimination on Munsell Hue test (3 or less errors)
- Proficient in Photoshop & Illustrator
- Datacolor, Spectrophotometer, and other design and color software knowledge is a plus
