Assistant Center Director, Luthercare for Kids

We’re currently seeking an Assistant Center Director to work alongside our Annville and Reamstown Early Learning Centers. This is a day-shift, non-exempt, full-time position with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

WHAT YOU DO:
As the Assistant Center Director with Luthercare for Kids, you’re an integral part of nurturing children and providing a firm foundation for their academic and social growth. You’ll do this in several ways, which include:
- Plan, prepare and conduct classroom activities utilizing the designated current Curriculum framework.
- Supervise children to assure that activities are carried out in a safe and age-appropriate manner. Observe and document the development of children within assigned classroom using informal and formal assessment tools.
- Plan, write and implement lesson plans incorporating learning standards and individualized goals for children. Evaluate effectiveness of lesson planning in carrying out goals for children.
- Maintain daily communication with families to address questions and concerns as they arise. Conducts parent-teacher conferences as directed by center director annually.
- Provide floating support to our centers, ensuring adequate supervision and support for children, helping with transitions, and stepping in during busy times or staff absences.
- Assist in managing lead generation, monitoring enrollment for both centers, and providing administrative support for both centers.
- Communicate with prospective families, scheduling tours and answering inquiries.
- Assist in coordinating activities of teachers, teacher aides and other support staff; may contribute to the functional supervision of team members in the center director’s absence.
- Assist the Center Directors with planning and implementing daily activities for the center. Works with other childcare centers to coordinate special group activities.
- Assist the Center Directors with the following designated activities: maintaining grant paperwork and standards, billing processes, implementing planned staffing pattern, maintaining electronic and paper files on all children, maintaining lesson plans and assessment data, written communication with clients, internal marketing efforts and maintaining supplies.
- Follows and ensures Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations are followed by others. Addresses violations immediately based on severity or reports violations immediately to the Center Director.
- Attend staff meetings; assist Center Director with meetings and professional development endeavors as identified.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Current PA Driver's License
- Assistant Center Directors must meet one (1) of the following criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and one (1) year of experience with children.
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s degree program from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, and two (2) years of experience with children.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or a GED certificate and a valid PA driver’s license.
- Ability to lift/push & pull up to fifty (50) lbs.
- Ability to observe and document the development of children and design age-appropriate lesson plans.

Luthercare for Kids is part of Luthercare, a Lutheran social ministry organization with a long history of providing senior care services, early learning programs, and childcare services in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Luthercare for Kids has two centers, located in Reamstown and Annville. Our experienced teaching staff support children within a safe and secure environment, bringing peace of mind to those who need our care and services. We offer individualized care and education for kids of all ages – from 6 weeks through school-age children.
