Job Details
The Assistant Controller is a self-motivated, highly detailed professional that will assist in overseeing the accounting department’s functions to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Liaison with accounting software and other system vendors and consultants
- Development of system controls to ensure data integrity
- Oversees, monitors, and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management
- Assists the Controller in producing accurate and timely financials statements
- Trains staff on proper company procedures
- Oversees the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinates the bank and financial audits with the Controller and CFO
- Coordinates annual income tax return filings with Controller and CFO
- Assist with other projects as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities
- Pays close attention to detail
- Has excellent critical thinking skills as well as ability to be highly analytical
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of management throughout the organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exhibits strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Products
Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- CPA or MBA designation desired
- Minimum four years of public/private accounting preferred
- Financial analysis experience preferred
- Two to three years of supervisory experience
