Summary/Objective:
A key member of the finance & operations team, this position is the focal point for income statement control, cost accounting, and analytics for various business units.The Assistant Controller works closely with the business unitleadership and the sales teams. The right individual will assume the responsibility of plant financial reporting, internal controls, provide real-time and projected results, and guidance on operational and sales opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepares consolidated internal plant financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various departments.
- Analyzes information within the financial statements and completes schedules that support account balances.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts; reclassifying account balances.
- Prepares various expense accruals and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile monthly activity in fixed asset accounts and compile documents to support asset balances. Verify lives and methods are accurate and assets are capitalized in accordance withcompany capitalization policies.
- Support plant leadership by answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- In addition to handling the monthly close process, will also be expected to prepare real-time and predictive results for evaluation and planning
- Assist in periodic physical inventories, generally involving pre-inventory prep, variance support, and posting of final physical inventory figures.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.
- May sit for several hours at a time.

- Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting or finance
- 3+ years of experience in accounting and finance
