About the Job
As the Assistant Controller, you will assume a critical role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will entail overseeing various accounting tasks, including financial analysis, accounts payable and receivable management, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes. Your meticulous attention to detail, adept analytical skills, and capacity to work independently will be instrumental in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reviewing accounts payable and receivable transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
- Scrutinizing bank statements and other financial records.
- Managing the general ledger by posting journal entries and performing monthly closings.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts.
- Conducting financial analysis and providing recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations and resolve financial-related inquiries.
- Staying updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Assisting with audits and other compliance-related activities.
- Participating in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
