Job Summary: The Assistant Controller is responsible for the development and analysis of accounting information to appraise profitability and performance.
- Supervises accounting employees and activities for the general ledger including cash, prepaids, payroll, and inventory.
- Maintains accounting policies to guarantee the accurate presentation of financial results.
- Manages the Month End close process to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial records in accordance with GAAP.
- Responsible for completeness of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Develops internal and external financial reports to provide management, the Board of Directors, the joint venture partners, and the regulatory bodies with a precise review of the firm's financial position.
- Annually develop departmental objectives and recommend short-term and long-term plans with respect to improving the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Other duties as assigned and such other movement, strength, stamina, and flexibility may be required to perform the essential functions of the job.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study
- 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Previous involvement with preparing and reporting annual, quarterly, and monthly financial results
- Advance proficiency with MS Excel
