About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to become a key part of our growing Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you'll be responsible for managing various general accounting functions, overseeing critical processes such as the close process and accounts payable, contributing to management reporting efforts, and fostering collaboration across different departments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end and year-end accounting procedures including reconciliation of key accounts, booking journal entries and ensuring proper documentation is maintained for reporting
- Responsible for accurate monthly reporting for all of Flow's business segments
- Work with the Corporate Controller and FP&A team to ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with reporting needs including department, vendor and business line classifications
- Responsible for maintaining dimension reporting in the ERP and related systems for a rapidly growing company
- Maintain and continuously improve the control environment for current and new processes
- Timely updates and reporting on key deadlines to the Corporate Controller
- Work with FP&A to maintain budget vs actual data
- Play a key role in external audit by providing timely and accurate support schedules as requested
- Assist with the development, review and updating of accounting policies, procedures, checklists and related documentation concerning assigned functions and responsibilities
- Participate in special projects, team training and development
- Compile accounting policy memos that address changes in our product or business lines
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 7-10 years of experience (mix of public and private preferred)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (IFRS a plus) and financial statement preparation and analysis
- Excellent organization skills, strong attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities and under different legal umbrellas
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Strong analytical and excel skills
- Experience with Python and SQL a plus
- CPA preferred but not required
