Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Full Time Assistant Dietary Supervisor to join our team of dedicated health care professionals. Our facilities is friendly and homelike and we are searching for an indivual who is seeking long term employment in an excellent team environement!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
· Other duties may be assigned
· Trains workers in performance of duties
· Instructs dietary personnel of standards of food handling, sanitation, hazard communications and recycling
· Assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency of operations
· Supervises serving meals
· Make weekly food/ supply order while staying within budget
· Make weekly cleaning schedule for dietary staff
· Updates dietary employee information on file cards
· Pick up food/ supplies if run out
· Keeps food supplier invoices in orderly manner
· Assists all dietary staff with daily operations as needed
· Take “call” with pager as designated by Dietary Manage
· Fill in shifts for dietary aides/ cooks as needed
· Assist Dietary Manage as needed.
· Inspects kitchen and dining areas and kitchen utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.
· Keeps records such as number of meals served, diet orders for each resident, and food cost.
· Update diet cards and tray cards on each resident
· Orders and inspects food, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met.
· Directs preparation of foods and beverages
· Consult’s with dietician on therapeutic diets, food exchanges and menu.
· Monitors and records temperature of food, freezers, and refrigerators in accordance with sanitation regulations.
· Takes inventory of store room items for accounting purposes
· Operate kitchen equipment
· Prepare and cook food on daily menu.

TOOLS/ EQUIPMENT USED
Dishwasher, blender, coffee maker, toaster, steam table. Lorators, can openers, oven puree machine, knives, and other general kitchen utensils.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsiblie for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; input in appraising performance; regarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
High school graduate. Experience in the food service of a cafeteria, hospital, or extended care facility preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with issues involving residents, resident families, and staff.
