- Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Coding, the Manager/Assistant Director of Coding & HIM is responsible for the daily operations for both the acute and ambulatory services within CoxHealth. This will include professional, inpatient and outpatient for all hospitals and clinics. The Assistant Director will work directly with the coding supervisors, and be a point of contact for the service line they are responsible for leading. This includes managing relationships and facilitating processes and questions for the physicians and other areas our department supports. It is expected to work closely with Coding Director and support in department strategy, mentorship, tactics and improvement efforts.

Medical Terminology
Proficient in CPT/HCPCS coding, ICD, Medicare guidelines, medical terminology and claims processing.
Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise good judgement and decision-making

Job Requirements
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree OR 8 years related experience in lieu of degree.
Experience
Required: At least 2 years’ leadership in Coding/HIM or related experience.
Skills
