Job Summary
The Assistant Director Education will be supporting the Program for Interprofessional Collaboration and Healthcare Communication in the Geisinger College of Health Sciences, Center for Faculty and Professional Development. Leads team to translate learning needs and requirements into innovative and creative high-level learning solution designs, applying learning methods, modalities, and content that support the overall business strategy. This includes oversight of programs, learning and training related to career development with a focus on individual contributors throughout the organization. Individuals in this role are responsible for implementation of evidence-based learning solutions, through collaboration with internal and external partners and vendors. This individual will consistently apply a set of standardized leading practices, processes, and technologies to streamline, improve the quality, impact and cost-effectiveness of learning projects and programs, and will take the lead in managing a range of learning design initiatives of widely varying complexity.
Job Duties
+ Provides leadership to team with focus on the design of learning, career development and training.
+ Develops, maintains, and leverages relationships with key stakeholders to influence design standards, tools and processes and to facilitate collaboration and effectively share knowledge, technology and resources including learning management systems.
+ Coordinates the development of appropriate educational programs and materials based on adult learning principles and directs the educational activities to meet the goals of the education plan.
+ Implements processes, tools and templates for the design and development of learning and/or development related programs and content, focusing on the learner experience and alignment with the enterprise strategies
+ Manages relationships with vendors and consults to review and evaluate educational resources and modify appropriate vendor instructional materials.
+ Maintains sufficient technical skills in software applications in order to serve as content expert and provide advanced instruction in the appropriate applications.
+ Integrates and simplifies information in a way that creates clear, simple ideas, concepts, and recommendations
+ Applies a creative thinking process to clarify needs, define learning strategies and potential solutions collaboratively with team members and clients
+ Leads by enhancing teamwork and collaboration: Maximizes the performance capacity of all team members by creating an environment that builds cooperation, mutual support and shared responsibility
