Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Admissions conducts recruitment, selection, and yield activities for assigned application pools; all efforts are focused on optimizing applicant and advisor relationships as well as funnel conversion rates in the achievement of stated goals (headcount, quality, revenue, and composition). This is a highly collaborative position that leverages the work of academic partners, administrative partners, and Jefferson Enrollment Management colleagues to achieve goals. The Assistant Director directly manages application pools while also supporting other team members in the management of application pools.
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Student Recruitment: conduct student recruitment activities including off-campus, on-campus, and virtual events/visits.
- Prospect/Applicant Outreach: conduct activity related to converting individuals from prospects to applicants and from incomplete to complete applicants.
- Admitted/Deposited Student Outreach: conduct activity related to converting admitted and deposited students to enrolled students.
- Application Pool Management: working with the Sr. Director/Director, ensure that the flow of applicants through the enrollment funnel supports the stated goals; manage offer targets, waitlists, melt-indicators, etc.
- Special Population Management: under the guidance of senior team members, develop strategies to address assigned sub-populations (i.e. athletes, re-entries, cross-campus transfers, etc.)
- Key Collaborations: collaborate extensively with academic and administrative colleagues in the recruitment, selection, and yield of new students.
- Staff Management: provide support for junior staff assigned to the team.
- Admissions Team Responsibilities: as a member of the Admissions team, contribute to efforts related to planning, policy & procedure development, and quality assurance & effectiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
