Overview: Join DetecTogether’s mission-driven team as the Assistant Director of Digital Media, playing a critical role in saving lives by educating the public on how to recognize early cancer symptoms and motivating timely action with healthcare providers. This position is ideal for a successful professional with exceptional writing, storytelling, and engagement skills. The candidate will support digital media management efforts, develop innovative social media strategies, and create data-driven, action-oriented content that resonates with audiences, even when addressing complex health topics.
Responsibilities:
- Campaign Strategy Development & Execution: –Develop and execute integrated digital campaigns in collaboration with the Senior Director, focusing on expanding brand awareness and driving community engagement through compelling storytelling and content creation that motivates informed actions.
- Engaging Content Creation: Craft compelling content that is relatable, approachable, and designed to maximize social media reach. Tailor tone and messaging to align with audience needs, making content accessible while conveying health communication themes and action-oriented content.
- Listen and Optimize: Use social listening tools and data insights to refine and personalize content, ensuring relevance and brand alignment. Demonstrate a strong understanding of social trends and engage thoughtfully with followers to strengthen relationships and drive impact.
- Analyze & Improve: Track, analyze, and report on digital metrics, including SEO & UX optimization using Sprout Social, WordPress, and GA4 to refine strategies, increase engagement, and boost conversions.
- Trend Monitoring & Insight Integration: Stay current on industry trends and early cancer detection insights, adjusting digital strategies and channel selection to keep content relevant, fresh, and patient outcomes top of mind.
- Influencer Outreach & Partnerships: Identify key influencers, industry experts, and partners to expand DetecTogether’s reach in the early cancer detection space.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with marketing, program, and event teams to align integrated digital strategies with organizational initiatives, supporting major events, e-newsletters, and fundraising as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mission-Driven: Demonstrated passion for saving lives through early cancer detection.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media Strategy: Proven 3 years of experience in digital marketing management, including strategy development and digital campaign execution.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Salesforce, email platforms like Emma, and social media management tools like Sprout Social.
- Initiative & Problem-Solving: Highly self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating a strong aptitude for identifying data-driven opportunities for improvement and leading new initiatives to completion.
This position is hybrid; you will be expected to work on site (3) three days a week and (2) days at home.
The salary for this position is $80,000 per year.

DetecTogether is a non-profit education and advocacy organization located in Westborough, Mass. It was founded to address an unmet need in the cancer world. While it is undisputed that early cancer detection leads to the best health outcomes, no one was teaching people how to identify early warning signs of cancer. In consultation with doctors from top cancer centers, founders Jim and Nancy Coghlin and their family set out to provide people with this life-saving education.
Now in our second decade, the mission of DetecTogether is to save lives by teaching people how to detect cancer early and be active partners in their healthcare.
