Your role as a Assistant Director of Engineering
The Full-Time Assistant Director of Engineering at City of O'Fallon plays a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of engineering projects within the city. From directing plan reviews and construction inspections to managing escrow accounts and recommending infrastructure developments, this position offers a diverse range of responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to create and revise city policies, codes, and ordinances, ensuring they align with industry standards. A valid driver's license issued by the state of Missouri is required, along with the possession of or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license within six months of hire. Proficiency in utilizing various software and tools associated with engineering projects is essential for this role. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- A minimum of six (6) years' experience with progressive responsibility preferably in a municipal setting or in the field of Public Works with 1-3 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain in six (6) months.
