Assistant Director of Federal Programs and Grants Accounting 240 Days
Job Goal: To support the management of the district's financial and administrative affairs, ensuring that sufficient funds are available for educational purposes and that the school district's financial assets are protected. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant State and Federal Laws, State Department of Education Rules and Regulations, as well as Liberty County Board of Education Policies. Additionally, the incumbent oversees multiple federal programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Prompt and regular attendance. · Provide clear and concise grants administration policies and procedures for staff. · Submit budget modifications and track status and approval notifications. · Meet with internal program managers on a monthly basis to go over reconciliation spreadsheets to monitor status of the awards and forecast of funds remaining. · Provide accounting and recordkeeping services essential in the preparation, publication, and distribution of grant budgets as approved by the Superintendent and the Board. · Maintain a complete and systematic set of records that captures all of the financial activity of the grants awarded. · Record detail of all financial transactions in appropriate journals and subsidiary ledgers from such resources as requisitions, payroll records, etc…. · Supervise the preparation and recording of all disbursements of district grant funds. · Prepare necessary month end and year end completion reports. · Cooperate with auditors and provides necessary information as requested. · Assist with the annual and special audits. · Produce reports on grant information as requested. · Request grant reimbursements through various financial platforms. · Attend training as needed to remain up to date on all grant requirements and regulations. · Provides guidance and compliance services for various other Federal programs such as Title I, II, III, IV, and Homeless. · Assist in preparing budgets for assigned grants. · Assist in maintaining and inputs required information into the Consolidated Application for applicable programs. · Assist with authorizing purchase requisitions, updates internal control procedures and prepares for applicable compliance and fiscal audits. · Assist with preparing, coordinates, and maintains appropriate monitoring documentation of designated Programs for auditing and internal and external monitoring. · Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent of Schools.
Physical Requirements: Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including: Light Work: Exerting 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects. Terms of Employment: Salary shall be paid consistent on the System’s approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the supervisor in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations. |
