The Job: You'll be working closely with the Director of our Guiding and Instruction program. You will be spending significant time on the water, teaching kayak, paddleboard, canoe and/or sailing lessons, leading trips and tours and facilitating custom outings on the river and ocean. Additionally you will be helping train our summer staff in paddling skills and kayak rescues. Other administrative tasks will also be required such as preparing for trips, gear maintenance. When not on the water and preparing for trips you will be helping supervise our rental locations.

This is a full-time year round position.

Requirements:

• Strong and varied paddling experience with kayaks, canoes, and SUPs. ACA or BCU instructor certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer service and recreation industry experience and willingness to adapt on the fly to the needs of the moment to ensure smooth functioning of the program.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guiding and boathouse staff, customers, and other business contacts, as well as the outside community, in a courteous and professional manner.
• Multitasking powers sufficient to keep a level head and work independently in our fast-paced environment.
• Availability full-time, year-round, including weekends and most holidays.
• Current driver's license, safe driving record, ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Sailing experience is not required but a benefit.
