Qualifications:
· Must have a current RN license in good standing.
· Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral or written instructions in English.
· Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
· Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions.
· Prior experience in long-term care/skilled nursing preferred.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising nursing services under the direction of the DON.
· Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice within the facility.
· Participate in the On-Call rotation.
· Assesses the quality of care rendered.
· Responsible for staff performance.
· Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
· Must possess the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information and make recommendations to the physician as it relates to the health of the resident.
· Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the facility.
· Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.
· Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests.
· Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
· Use appropriate workplace behavior and always adhere to the dress code.
· Must clear the criminal background check, be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry, and must not appear on the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
· Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines of nursing facility administration.
· Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn.
