National Health Care Associates ("NHCA") is growing and seeking an Assistant Director of Payroll Operations to work onsite at our Wethersfield, CT corporate office. With over 40 skilled nursing centers in 6 states throughout the Northeast and New England, we at National HealthCare Associates pride ourselves on delivering high quality long term, post-acute care, and short-term rehab services. As the "right-hand" person for the Director of Payroll, this will be the point person for all NHCA Centers, providing solutions and white glove level customer service.
Most Important Duties:
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the payroll department.
- Ensure payrolls for all centers and related entities are processed on-time and accurately.
- Oversee Payroll Representatives, ensuring payroll is being processed appropriately.
- Working with the Reps on any issues that come up on policy, procedure.
- Working on Special Projects e.g. facility audits (i.e. extracting data, historical information from the Payroll System).
- Making sure data interfaces are processed appropriately i.e. moving info from payroll to benefits carrier.
- Compliance reporting for EEO
- Workers Comp Audits
Preparing and presenting payroll-related reports

What You'll Bring:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Required: 5+ yrs payroll management/director level experience at a multi-state, multi-site organization
- Required: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain friendly, supportive, calm and measured in a fast-paced environment
- Required: Management Experience
- Required: ADP Vantage Experience
- PBJ: Payroll Based Journal Reporting
- Bachelors in Accounting or related experience
- Healthcare Provider Payroll experience
- Workday Payroll Management experience
- Understand Smartlinx Scheduling, Time and Attendance System (or at least know Kronos or one of the others)
- Understanding of Basic Accounting e.g. how payroll transactions affect Accounting
- Human Resources Experience e.g. understanding of Job Classification Codes and how they are used
- Strong Excel: V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Simple Formulas, at minimum
- Power Point: e.g. creating presentations for training purpose
