About the Job
The Residential Life department at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position of Assistant Director of Residential Life.
In support of the four-year residential experience at the College of Saint Benedict, the Assistant Director of Residential Life is responsible for leading the department’s housing operations functions, including facilitating multi-step room assignment processes for new and returning students, supporting professional and paraprofessional staff in the department to resolve student issues, and liaising with campus partners to support assignments, room changes, and facilities. The Assistant Director has primary responsibility for all campus housing facilities and operations including issues related to renovations, new construction, repairs and technology. The Assistant Director also develops departmental web and print materials and manages policies and procedures for operational aspects of the department. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students, the Assistant Director is an integral part of the Residential Life leadership team, participating in strategic and long-range planning for both the department and the student development division.
Serving approximately 1300 women residents in six residence halls and 13 campus apartment buildings, the Residential Life staff includes a director, assistant director, five live-in residence directors, 40 paraprofessional resident assistants and community advisors, and 8-9 student office assistants. Professional staff members build close connections with students through daily interactions, campus events, and community involvement.
