Overview:Under the supervision of the Vice President of Security and Surveillace, the incumbent is responsible for managing Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain security activities to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Gaming Commission, that guests are not engaged in illegal activities and that soft and hard count operations are conducted in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. This position will ensure that all potential violations of regulations are investigated, and corrective actions taken to ensure the ongoing safety and security of all guests, team members, as well as safeguarding company assets. Responsibilities:- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service. Responsible for protection of Property assets.- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Security Department.- Initiates, conducts and assists in any internal or external investigations, and provide assistance and/or direct involvement upon request with investigations being conducted.- Ensures the operation of a 24-hour, 7 day a week Security Operation to provide a timely response to routine and emergency situations.- Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, evaluating and managing staff to ensure that team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.- Researches, evaluates and tests latest technology in security to develop most appropriate system to achieve security, effectiveness and cost efficiency objectives. - Formulates operating policies and procedures for responsible departments. - Responsible for the physical safety of team members and guests and coordinates investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to ensure proper handling of criminal violations of team members and guests; may occasionally appear in court in criminal or civil justice proceedings.- Establishes, implements, and monitors emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of emergencies including but not limited to fire, flood, or bomb threats.- Oversees Risk Management and Worker’s Compensation for team members and guests.- Coordinates statistical survey activities and reports production to facilitate information for management.- Establishes policies and procedures and training for all security team members pertaining to emergency and safety procedures.- Establishes and maintains department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve proper management of department.- Makes recommendations in the development of gaming procedures to ensure that management takes into consideration the enforceability of such procedures from a security perspective.- Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned. - Attend seminars when needed.- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a closely related field with at least 5 years of Management level security experience in a hotel or gaming environment or law enforcement management position.or - High school education with at least 7 years of Management level security experience in a hotel or gaming environment or law enforcement management position.- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.- Prior experience in the Gaming industry required. - Prior experience in Tribal Gaming strongly preferred.- Prior experience opening new properties/outlets preferred.- Must successfully pass background check.- Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Knowledge:- Civil and criminal laws. - Gaming regulations. - Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; - Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. - Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Ability to:- Manage and direct comprehensive security and safety programs.- Develop and administer goals, objectives and procedures.- Make unpopular and/or difficult decisions which benefit the organization in the short and long term.- Be a strategic, ethical and effective motivator.- Forecast changes in the economic climate and/or profits and react accordingly.- Select, supervise, train, and evaluate team members.- Participate in the development and administration of goals, objectives, and procedures.- Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.- Interpret and explain policies and procedures.- Operate various types of office equipment along with hand radios, monitors, fire extinguishers, resuscitation equipment, recording devices, key watcher key control systems, etc.- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.- Interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.- Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.- This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.Additional Details:
