About the Opportunity:
Gecko Hospitality is conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Manager to lead a well-established and highly respected restaurant. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a restaurant known for its commitment to quality, excellence, and superior guest experiences.
Position Overview:
The General Manager will report to ownership and the Director of Restaurant Operations, overseeing all aspects of the restaurantÂ’s daily operations. This role requires a hands-on leader who excels at managing staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and guest service, and driving the overall success of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fully understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure guests receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
- Oversee consistent preparation and presentation of all menu items in line with the restaurant's standards.
- Inspect products and ensure all packing and receiving procedures are met.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff while ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Schedule labor to maximize efficiency and meet business needs.
- Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, and cleanliness while fostering a productive work environment.
- Manage cash handling and adhere to reconciliation procedures.
- Make employment and termination decisions as needed.
- Lead by example and fill in as necessary to maintain operations and guest satisfaction.
- Develop staff professionally, providing training and development in all areas of the restaurant.
- Complete all required paperwork and reports in an organized and timely manner.
- Maintain equipment and ensure the facility follows preventative maintenance programs.
- Oversee inventory management and ensure deliveries meet established policies.
- Manage wine/beverage programs, including inventory and ordering.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals and administer corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a General Manager and 5+ years of management experience overall.
- Experience in a chef-driven restaurant concept that values excellence in execution.
- Strong background in front-of-the-house operations, including at least 3 years of restaurant management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Word processing and spreadsheet software (specifically Excel).
- Ability to manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including problem-solving and business development.
