JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Laboratory operations.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to Manager, Lab
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

- To assist in or conduct investigations of discrepancies to resolve problems with clients. To inform Management of required Corrective Actions.
- To maintain communication with clients and Management regarding status of samples.
- To communicate with Management regarding routine needs of the Laboratory.
- To oversee the activities of shipping, receiving, sample retention and sample disposal.
- To provide objective input into crew members' 10X Journey.
- To assist in the training for all levels of crew members.
- To maintain an awareness of the abilities and personality of each technician.
- To carry out the above responsibilities and others which may be assigned in a safe and ethical manner, and in a fashion, which demonstrates support for the Company's Quality Policy, Business Ethics Policy, Vision, and Strategy. To exercise good judgement, common sense, and diplomacy in doing so.
- Renders to clients an accurate, rapid, and efficient testing service of
indisputable integrity - Ensures that adequate equipment and staff are available for all jobs.
- Collaborates with the Lab Manager, manages laboratory employee.
performance and maintains an effective work group. - Seeks new business and is a positive representative to clients.
- Perform other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL RQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- 2+ years Petroleum Laboratory Experience.
- Competent in the routine operation of a petroleum testing laboratory
- To be on-call during off hours to assist crew members as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude, a high tolerance for job pressure and long hours, and the ability for working and communicating with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Experience with LIMS, industry specific Databases and MS Office
- Solid leadership experience and ability to the manage staff to achieve the required level of quality with testing, training, safety, and financial goals of the office.
- Experience and knowledge with ICP / ICPMS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) and GC/GCMS (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry)

- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines

- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
- Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
- Must be customer focused and quality driven
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate, 50 % of the time
- Drivers License with reliable driving record is required
