SUMMARY: The Assistant Maintenance Manager works with the Maintenance Manager to plan and oversee activities of the Maintenance Department including safe work practices, execution of effective preventive/predictive maintenance programs, minimization of breakdowns and the overall efficient operation, participation in planning efforts toward facility and/or equipment modifications or additions, continuous improvement in company operations, and the adherence to all company safety and operating policies
SHIFT: 3pm-1130pm
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years facilities management experience including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning
- Must have demonstrated experience successfully developing and delivering training for new and existing employees
- Strong familiarity with manufacturing environment and equipment
- Possesses working knowledge of plant engineering principles and practices
- Demonstrated ability to independently project labor needs to meet customer demands
- Computer skills commensurate with position responsibilities i.e., scheduling, word processing
- Strong attention to details, highly organized
- Requires ability to communicate in English fluently - reading, writing and verbally
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is required
- Must have excellent listening and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION:
- BS in Engineering or related degree or related work experience plus 2 years of experience in maintenance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department.
- Ensures that adequate inventories of critical components are available always.
- Plans and execute activities which are intended to provide continuous improvement in the company's manufacturing practices.
- Works with other departments as necessary to plan seamless modifications to, or the addition of, facilities and/or equipment's.
- Inspects the work performed by others to ensure conformance to standards, drawings, or blueprints; takes corrective action where necessary.
- Works closely with Plant Management to minimize the loss of production time in modifying existing equipment, production lines and/or processes the installation of new equipment.
- Determines the needs and feasibility of subcontracted services.
- Maintains a skilled maintenance staff by providing training and direction as needed.
- Perform other duties as may be required by management.
