The Print Shop is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant focusing on community and relationships, offering a unique experience to our guests. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager to play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of our restaurant.
Job Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Manager at The Print Shop Restaurant, you will work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the restaurant. Your role will involve a combination of customer service, team coordination, and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include:
1. Customer Service:
- Welcome and interact with guests to provide exceptional dining experiences, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Monitor the quality of service in the dining area, ensuring that guests receive timely and attentive service from the front-of-house staff.
2. Staff Supervision and Training:
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training front-of-house staff, including hosts/hostesses, servers, server assistants and bartenders.
- Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to ensure staff deliver consistent and exceptional customer service.
- Inforce policy and procedures to insure service quality is maintained
3. Shift Coordination:
- Manage daily shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs during peak and off-peak hours.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain seamless communication between the front and back of the house.
4. Operational Support:
- Assist in managing reservations and walk-in seating, manage valet, optimizing table turnover and maximizing guest capacity.
- Oversee the setup and appearance of the dining areas to create an inviting atmosphere for guests.
5. Problem Solving:
- Address guest complaints or concerns professionally and effectively, finding suitable solutions to enhance their dining experience.
- Collaborate with the management team to resolve operational issues and challenges that may arise.
6. Financial Tracking:
- Assist in monitoring sales, managing cash registers and server closeouts, and reconciling receipts at the end of shifts.
- Support in managing petty cash and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.
7. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COVID-19 protocols, and take proactive measures to maintain a safe dining environment.
8. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Kitchen Manager, Bar Manager, General Manager, and other staff members to ensure smooth communication and coordination between the front and back of the house.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (2+ years) in a supervisory or assistant manager role in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including reservations systems and point-of-sale software.
- Leadership abilities and a team-oriented approach.
- Proficient with Google Suite, Spreadsheets
- ServSafe Manager Certified or willing to Certified
- ABC Server Permit
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs up and down stairs
