Overview:This position supervises the day to day billing activities of the Verification, Billing and Follow-up StaffQualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:- High school graduate and four years medical billing experience required- Four-year degree may substitute for four years of medical billing experience. Two-year degree may substitute for two year of medical billing experience- EPIC billing system and supervisory experience strongly preferred- Excel and Word skills required- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding and claims processing required- Excellent communication skills required, including staff interaction, patient relations, conflict resolution skills, dissemination of information, ability to interact with physicians and in management forums- A demonstrated knowledge of managed care contracting and outcomes and medical reimbursement , including commercial payers, federal, and state programs' procedures and guidelines- Should be able to deal effectively and aggressively with reimbursement issues and represent the financial interests of the University of Florida in a professional and positive manner- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills required. The ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve and achieve successful outcomes and function effectively in a team environment are necessary attributes of the successful incumbent.
