Position Overview:
The Dog Stop® is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our boarding, daycare, grooming, and retail business. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for dogs, a strong background in management, and excellent customer service skills. The Assistant Manager will assist the Manager and Dog Care Manager in day-to-day operations while overseeing employees in all aspects of The Dog Stop®. They need to have the ability to fill in wherever they are needed at any given time and possess strong customer service skills. Previous experience managing a team in a dog daycare/boarding facility is plus. Some weekend and holiday hours are required. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure smooth operations and maintain the highest standards of care and service
Job Requirements:
- Must love dogs of all sizes.
- Customer service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Assist the Manager and Dog Care Manager in daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with the Operations Manual, providing necessary retraining when needed.
- Maintain a strong company culture aligned with The Dog Stop® values and mission.
- Prioritize health and safety protocols for both staff and dogs.
- Delegate responsibilities, encourage accountability, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Back-End Specific Job Functions:
- Help DCM Manage inventory of supplies specific to back-end operations.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to back-end staff.
- Assist with disinfecting, bathing, and daycare procedures as required.
- Help in monitoring the daycare rooms.
- Coordinate daily tasks and prioritize duties efficiently.
- Perform cleaning tasks including handling dog waste, laundry, dishes, and deep cleaning duties.
- Maintaining grooming room
- Supervise playgroups to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of all dogs, promptly addressing any issues.
- Prepare and distribute meals for all dogs in the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of dog health, behavior, and incidents.
- Train and mentor staff in best practices for dog care and handling.
- Ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks meet high standards.
- Follow pet feeding and medication schedules as needed.
Front-End Specific Job Functions:
- Welcome and greet customers upon entry.
- Conduct Check-In and Check-Out procedures using the point-of-sale system.
- Process customer payments accurately.
- Answer incoming telephone inquiries professionally.
- Provide facility tours to potential customers as required.
- Perform additional tasks as delegated by the Manager or Dog Care Manager.
- Informing the BOH the grooming schedule and periodically checking in with them to make sure the task has been completed.
Social Media Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and maintain engaging social media content that reflects The Dog Stop® culture and values.
- Capture and create appealing photos and videos of dogs.
- Assist in curating and scheduling social media posts to promote the facility.

Necessary Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience in retail and customer service
- 3 professional references
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends
