Overview:Reporting to the Hospital Manager, the Veterinary Technician Manager is responsible for assisting the Hospital Manager within our fast-paced, multi-doctor veterinary hospital. to cultivate a talented team of Veterinary Technicians to care for the patients of Cypress Fairhaven Animal Hospital. The Vet Tech Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, ensuring complete and thorough training and continuing development of a skilled team of Techsthat embody CFAH’s core values, mission and vision.
The Tech Manager sets the tone of calm productivity for the team to follow regardless of the situation at hand. The Vet Tech Manager is responsible for providing timely performance feedback and skill development coaching to each member of the Vet Tech Team. The Vet Tech Manager creates and communicates standard operating procedures for the department alongside the Hospital Manager. They consistently and fairly enforce
policies and protocols across the team to ensure a fair employment experience, and the client/patient
experience is consistently of the highest quality standard of care. Ultimately, the Tech Manager must
hold each technician accountable, fairly and consistently.The Assistant Manager will assist the Hospital Manager with HR functions including hiring/staffing, training, performance management, and instituting/maintaining compliance with policies and procedures that ensure safe and efficient practices within the hospital environment, as well as administrative tasks and client relations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates.
- Partners with the Hospital Manager to address staffing needs including hiring, training, reviewing, and coaching staff.
- Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
- Approve daily timesheets and correct schedules in Dayforce.
- Reconcile End of Day reports and check daily deposits.
- Proactively demonstrate the ability to show empathy towards clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
- Address and work to resolve employee conflict and behavior.
- Manage the financial needs of the hospital by maintaining accurate balances through collection of client transactions, cash and credit card handling procedures, and opening and closing procedures.

filled and/or humid conditions. - The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather
conditions. - The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Ability to stand for 12 hours or more.
- Must possess excellent communication and conflict management skills.
- Experience leading a diverse work force and establishing a positive team environment.
- Experience leading a team in a veterinary environment is a preferred.
- Flexible scheduling including some holidays and weekends.
- Any veterinary experience strongly preferred.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Preferred: Education equivalent to 2 years of college (pre-veterinary curriculum) or Licensed
Veterinary Technician (LVT). - Preferred: Ability to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key adding machine.
- Salary range $25.00-$30.00/hr based on experience
