Job Purpose
This role is designed to enhance AHM's market position by developing and executing a competitive contingency program aimed at current customers and owners of competing brand's models. This strategy includes forging partnerships with racing teams to bolster Honda's brand presence across the US in an effort to amplify brand visibility, generate engaging marketing materials, boost consumer perception, and drive sales growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Directs the overall PS&P MC Sports Contingency strategy creation and implementation across all related disciplines nationwide, annual budgeting and tracking, and ongoing support of program to ensure competitiveness with other brands to drive brand loyalty and support sales.
- Support Team(s) management which includes budget creation and tracking, contract negotiations with current teams and acquisitions of new teams in various disciplines of professional racing nationwide to compete in varying series in a cost-effective manner to create content to promote the brand in >100 events annually to build brand affinity.
- Directs the overall PSP Amateur racing/trackside support strategy through partnerships with teams and dealers to provide industry leading support to Honda customers at racing events nationwide.
- Responsible for relationship management of current team sponsors along with acquisition of new sponsors increase our revenue in that category to offset racing expenses.
- Department Inventory Management (All activities in regard to forecasting and ordering units, ensuring PSP products arrive in time for racing series. Also responsible for future removal from inventory.)
- Management of Hospitality Suites for executives and sponsors at select events
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or related discipline or equivalent work experience
Minimum Experience
- Requires 12+ years of experience with degree or 10-12 related work experience
- Experience working with Powersports racing team(s) and or rider support required (Contract experience in that field is preferred)
- 2- and 4- wheel riding experience is preferred
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Manage multiple schedules and budgets
- Successful applicant should have familiarity of 4- wheel and 2- wheel PSP Racing, Contingency structuring and inventory management skills
- Applicant must be comfortable in a role that requires negotiations
- Prior event coordination/execution preferred
- Interacts and communicates effectively with associates; ability to motivate team
- Good planning, implementation and project management skills
- Strategic thinking and ability to analyze Honda competitor's situation to develop plan to maximize given resources
- Strong strategic planning and analysis of data required
