SUMMARY:
The Field Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations including facilitation of internal communication between field crews and management, outside facility interface, facilitating short-term scheduling needs, equipment, and supply maintenance, as well as other operational support functions as assigned by the Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts, assists, and supports crews daily at the beginning and/or end of their shifts.
- Direct, monitor, communicate with, and evaluate all field team members.
- Ensure maintenance of quality field operations through daily interaction, oversight, communication, and evaluation with field team members.
- Prepares written feedback for team member evaluations.
- Proactive in approach to day-to-day operations, implements process improvements.
- Ensure PCR’s and other field paperwork is 100% reconciled daily in conjunction with the PCR processing.
- Ensure 100% of operational response exceptions are brought to closure with appropriate action.
- Monitors truck cleanliness and truck maintenance issues.
- Works with crews to maintain truck cleanliness and proper DHS levels.
- Makes recommendations to the Training Manager and Clinical Specialist to improve various aspects of the training and QA/QI programs (This may include changes in specific study materials, technology, and standard operating policies, procedures, education, and training).
- Provide team counseling and guidance and information regarding ABC Ambulance operations.
- Promptly investigate incidents involving assigned units or team members, including, filing of internal and external reports, and counseling.
- Directs and leads support staff in inventorying, ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing medical and shop equipment and supplies.
- Ensure maintenance of adequate levels of staffing, equipment and medical supplies for field units.
- Implement and enforce company policies and standards.
- Perform direct ALS patient care activities.
- Maintain communication with other agencies and departments.
- Serve on committees with other departments to set policies and generate ideas.
- Communicate company goals and standards of excellence through exemplary daily job performance, attitude, initiative, and demeanor.
- Prepare reports and manages projects as assigned by Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Maintain availability during disaster situations or mass casualty incidents and assist in any capacity needed.
- Attend scheduled meetings.
- Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies. (i.e., Americans with Disability Act, Affirmative Action Plan, etc.)
- Responsible for supervising, directing and developing subordinates, including completing performance reviews, counseling sessions, etc.
- Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
- Mentor team members, conduct performance evaluations, counsel, and provide disciplinary actions to assigned team members, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
- Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensing/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Current CPR, PHTLS, and ACLS certification, or equivalent credentials. Some advanced education preferred.
- Provide vaccination status.
Experience:
- Three years EMS experience required.
- Paramedic field experience preferred.
- EMT field experience considered.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to function as a field paramedic/EMT performing direct ALS/BLS patient care activities. Must be able to drive an ambulance and have a driving record in compliance with GMR policy regarding insurability. Microsoft office experience. Effective oral and written and Interpersonal communication skills.
- No corrective action received within the previous six-month period to application (clinical/corrective)

Frequently: See Physical Agility Test; kneeling, stooping, bending, leaning, flexibility, and multiple physical activities performed at the same time (carrying multiple equipment while pushing on pram)
