About the Role:
Mollie Stone’s Markets is looking for an Assistant Produce Manager at our Grand Central location. The perfect candidate will be customer service driven and be flexible working various tasks from day to day.
Essential Functions:
- Assist and support the Produce manager with all departmental functions.
- Assist in the interviewing, training, development for Produce department staff.
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment.
- Follow department procedures to maintain supplies.
- Manage inventory and pricing, including signage, to achieve required margin and labor targets. Oversee sampling of department products to the customers.
- Ensure freshness and quality of product upon delivery and restocking
- Monitor and maintain proper rotation of all fresh product
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a produce department
- Previous customer service experience in a retail/grocery setting
- Ability to give excellent and consistent customer service.
- A passion for unique, fresh food and a team-centered attitude
- Ability to identify quality or freshness of produce by sight or smell
- Good communicator and motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.
- Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented.
- Can train and inspire a diverse group of Team Members to excellence in all aspects of the department.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for natural foods.
- Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department including morning, evenings, and weekends.
- Local candidates only.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
- Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
- Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
- Reaching: Up to 4 hours per day.

Pay range:
$27.41/hour
