Job Description
The School of Occupational Therapy is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level beginning in January 2025. This is a full-time, tenure-track position within our ACOTE-accredited OTD and MOT programs. The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate outstanding
commitment to graduate-level teaching and capstone and/or research mentorship.
We prefer an OTR with clinical experience in mental health and adult practice, but will consider an OTR with adult experience who is willing to complete training in order to teach mental health content. Additional duties include engaging graduate students in research, participating in ongoing program development with the SOT, and serving on faculty and university committees. Additionally, preference will be given to applicants with a PhD, EdD, or ABD with the expectation of completion of the degree within 2 years of start date.

Responsibilities
- Teaches within the entry-level OT programs (MOT & OTD)
- Provides research supervision (entry-level and/or post-professional)
- Participates in experiential education components including fieldwork and the doctoral capstone
- Participates in academic advising and scholarly endeavors
- Provides service within the University and community
Qualifications
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of documented clinical practice experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include:
- Clinical practice as an occupational therapist that is relevant to content area within the curriculum (preference is given to individuals with clinical experience in mental health and adult practice, but will consider an applicant with adult experience who is willing to complete training in order to teach mental health content).
- Scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning).
- Understanding of the role of the occupational therapy assistant
Education:
- Must hold an entry-level occupational therapy degree from an accredited academic program
- Must hold a minimum of a doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), with preference given to applicants with a PhD, EdD, or ABD with the expectation of completion of the degree within 2 years of start date
Licenses/Certifications/Credentials:
- Initially certified and maintains current certification in good standing through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Maintains licensure in good standing in the State of Indiana.
