Major/Essential Functions:
+ Performs clinical duties to include sign-out responsibilities, grossing, frozen section coverage, night/weekend call duties, performance of bone marrow aspiration and examinations and fine needle aspirations, autopsies, and presentations at tumor boards
+ Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and laboratory staff
+ Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship]
+ Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
+ Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.
+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
+ Adheres to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures
+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
+ Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso

Required Qualifications:
+ M.D. or D.O. degree
+ Unrestricted Texas Medical license or eligible for Texas medical licensure
+ Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
+ Experience in general surgical pathology sign-out
+ Experience in the interpretation of frozen sections
+ Experience in the performance and interpretation of bone marrows
+ Experience in grossing and in performing autopsies
