The Department of Political Science at Utah State University invites applications for a tenure-track, academic-year position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Political Science beginning August 2025. Candidates should have research interests in the areas of health or education politics and policy. Application review will begin October 15, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
This hire is part of a broader cluster initiative examining health and educational disparities across the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, and the Quinney College of Natural Resources. This collaboration seeks to expand and enhance research and curricular offerings that investigate and produces scholarship around these themes in Utah, the nation, and the world.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities will include a primary role in research, teaching at both the master’s and undergraduate levels, and service. Preference will be given to those with expertise in research methods. The anticipated teaching load is two courses per semester, with two course releases in the first three years.
Qualifications:- Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Political Science as of employment date
- Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in research
- Candidates must demonstrate potential for effectiveness in teaching
