The successful candidate should hold a doctorate in reading or related fields (ABD candidates are welcome to apply), have a clear research agenda focused on the science of reading, and have significant experience teaching reading to students in grades pre-K -12. Requirements include experience preparing practitioners in evidence-based reading practices, experience working with diverse students, families, and schools, research publications/presentations, and a proven undergraduate and/or graduate teaching record.

Expectations:
The candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses in the graduate and doctoral Reading Science programs. Additional responsibilities may include:
* Developing and publishing research in a sustained line of inquiry
* Supporting doctoral dissertations
* Advising students
* Supervising students in the field
* Supporting student recruitment efforts
* Providing service to the undergraduate or graduate program, department,
university, and the professional community
* Demonstrated ability and commitment towards diversity, equity, and inclusion
* Other duties as assigned
