SUMMARY
Our client, a non-profit Mental Health entity, operates a state-licensed facility for adults with severe mental health disorders, focusing on a forensic patient population. The program provides a structured treatment clinic with intensive mental health supportive services. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our clients team and make a significant impact on the lives of their clients.
DESCRIPTION
Assists the Program Director in supervision of staff as assigned and has oversight of clinical operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as head of service in the absence of the Program Director
- Acting as a liaison between administrative, clinical/program staff, and other agencies
- Supervising assigned staff and providing clinical supervision hours for BBS registered staff/interns
- Assisting in clinical program development and recruitment for clinical positions
- Planning and implementing clinical training for staff
- Training and supervising new therapists and case aides
- Ensuring compliance with DMH and Gateways' documentation requirements
- Participating in educational seminars and inter/intra-agency meetings
- Developing, maintaining, and evaluating policies and procedures
- Preparing reports and presentations
- Providing on-call coverage for emergency consultation and intervention
- Assisting in crisis situations and facilitating client transfers to higher levels of care
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring group schedules
- Completing client assessments for placement
- Hiring, training, evaluating, and developing corrective action plans for staff
- Performing other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing individual and group therapy in the mental health field
- Functional experience with the mental health system
- Treatment and diagnostic skills utilizing the DSM V
- Experience with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, and evaluating dangerous behaviors
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES
- Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work or psychology
- LCSW or licensed Psychologist – Eligible to complete appropriate clinical supervision training to supervise registered MFT or MSW interns or other designated disciplines
REQUIREMENTS
- Pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance
- Valid California Driver's license
- TB clearance
- Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier
- Fire and Safety Training*
- First Aid Training Certification*
- CPR Certification*
- Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI)**
