Roles & Responsibilities:Culmen is seeking a full time, onsite Assistant Transportation Services Project Manager to support federal law enforcement training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico.
- Reports to the Project Manager and has the authority to speak for and act for the Project Manager in his/her absence in all matters related to providing services under this contract. This delegation of authority includes but is not limited to all matters concerning the day-to-day effective operation of Transportation Support services such as personnel supervision, training, purchasing, and cost controls.
- Assists the Project Manager in overseeing all fleet maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of FLETC Artesia shuttle/transport vehicles
- Either the Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager(s) shall be on site at FLETC during all times when work is being performed. During normal duty hours, the Project Manager or Assistant shall be available within thirty (30) minutes notice to meet at the Center with Government personnel designated by the Contracting Officer to discuss contractual issues. After normal duty hours, the Project Manager or Assistant shall be available on-Center within two (2) hours.
- Serves as the liaison between the Project Manager and project team members
- Assists in developing, maintaining, and communicating project plans and all required government reports, including Daily Vehicle Usage Reports, bus and transportation schedules, vehicle inspection and maintenance reports, quality and property control plans, weekly and monthly status reports, etc.
- Proactively identifies risks and issues associated with the project, and works with the Project Manager to develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions as needed
- Monitors and reports on project progress, highlighting any potential safety or federal compliance issues
- Participates in project reviews and audits, providing input and recommendations for improvement
- Assists in the implementation of quality assurance procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Manager
- Understands and adheres to company policies and procedures
- Previous experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager on Federal Contracts
- Demonstrated experience and a working knowledge typical of work under this contract (for example: Vehicle Maintenance, Scheduling, Transportation Management, Inventory, Quality Control, etc.)
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English and shall be capable and experienced in the type of work they are assigned under this contract
- Be physically able to perform assigned work
- Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or related field or 3-5 years’ experience in project management, program coordination, fleet management, or similar role on a project/contract of comparable size and scope
- Experience managing budgets
- Exceptional organizational skills and multitasking ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
